Creedo
In the tradition of our namesake, Grom Hellscream, the Hellscream Raiders strive to crush our enemies, aid our friends, and die with honor. It doesn't matter if the enemy is the Blackrock Clan, the Scarlet Crusade, or ten thousand Night Elves. We will be there with axe, wand and bow laying waste to all those who oppose! For Grom! For the Horde!

"When we fight, think of he who did what must be done. Grom Hellscream, forever." - Tolven Warsong
Hellscream Raiders Biography
This is intended to give anyone interested, as well as new recruits, some back history on Hellscream Raiders. Hellscream Raiders, or HSR as we like to call ourselves, has been around for a very long time. Hellscream Raiders was founded on December 14th, 2004. We initially started out however quite different then how we ended up today, however our core values still hold true.

The Beginning
The founding members of Hellscream Raiders originally joined a guild called Seeds of Betrayal. Originally Indore/Jadin and Malth/Jonan brought in a fairly large group of Minnesota based players to the guild; most of whom were friends and friends of friends. Gorson, the leader of SoB, was a high school friend of Indore's. Gorson's collective of friends simply did not mesh with Indore and Jonan's friends. After two short weeks of membership, there were personality conflicts rampant, and Zokof was kicked from the guild for calling Gorson a tyrant. In Hellscream Raiders' first show of solidarity, the entire group left Seeds of Betrayal, even players who didn't know Zokof personally.

Hellscream Raiders is Born
The creators of HSR consisted of three people. Jadin (now Indore), Malth (now Jonan) and Zokof (still Zokof). In a defiant message back to Seeds of Betrayal, we named Zokof the first Warchief of Hellscream Raiders. The name Hellscream Raiders itself was created by Indore and Jonan. Zokof designed our original guild tabard. After a short time as Warchief, Zokof stepped down and handed the title of Warchief to Jadin who began developing the values and framework of what Hellscream Raiders eventually became. The goal of the fledgeling guild was simple: to create a guild so that friends and friends of friends could stay in touch easily under one guild banner. Our goals were to obtain L60 and enjoy questing and raiding at that level. Our key values were friendship and fairness. We openly invited any real life friends of players and family members. From early on, we conducted voting among the leadership, officers, and regular guildmembers for important guild matters.

The race to get to level 60 was on and the winner was Malth, soon followed by Stinger and Zinfari. The guild established Team Speak home client servers to forward the cause. HSR's web presence consisted of a free ezboard message board. The raids consisted of Scholomance and UBRS when we had enough players online.

In June 2005, we merged with the guild Nemesis (Voltazek, Bighorn/Fester, Sweetwine, Mohumpa, Mizfit) through our friends Crav, Wrunk, Norgand, and Loptor who oringally merged to Nemesis from the guild Syk. That bolstered the guild ranks for a while, however shortly after that time we had a lot of people take a break from WoW for the summer, and membership hit an all time low. Those players still remaining quested and did whatever they wanted, but nothing formal. Membership was at around 20 people. However, the guild survived because of the solidarity between friends in the guild. Enough of the core remained to keep the guild rolling along.

September 2005 began the rebirth of Hellscream Raiders. Many of the players who left for the summer returned. We began fielding UBRS and Scholomance raids more frequently and began joining Elysium and Dies Irae raids in ZG and MC. A critical decision to HSR's future was made at this point in time as well. The leadership made it a goal to make HSR into a MC capable raiding guild. Jonan became Warchief and began a restructuring of leadership and implementation of officer roles. Hellscream Raiders began recruiting new members. The key value we always kept intact with HSR is that we're a "friends" guild at heart. We've kept the rule even to this day that if a member has a friend or family member that wants to join, they may even if we are closed to recruiting for the class they play as. We continued to build our membership base with similar "adult" minded recruits. The kiddies that applied to the guild washed out almost immediately and we've kept our mature guild membership intact. HSR holds very dearly our integrity on the server and all the members guard it closely.

In December 2005 HSR was approached by Drunken Monkey to do a merger. Both guilds had members that wanted to do bigger and better things. Before the merger, we were allied with Drunken Monkey and we worked very well together. The merger was voted on by the members and passed unanimously. Shortly thereafter, the merge happened and the new HSR began guild only treks into MC and ZG. Ever since we began in MC we've had leaps and bounds of success. Every boss in MC was either killed on the first or second attempt, including Rag. ZG was a little slower to get to Hakkar however we have done it.

HSR Today Factoids
One of the rare pleasures in a game like WoW is not getting an uber item or making a ton of money. It is building something from nothing. Watching it grow, and whither then grow again even bigger. To be in HSR is to be part of a legacy on Azgalor which we are all proud to be a part of. Everyone has seen many guilds come and go, to be in one that endures is something not many get to experience.
Website Quick-Start Guide
Welcome to the official website of the Hellscream Raiders. A World of Warcraft guild on the PvP server, Azgalor. Here are a few tips to get you started using our website.
Please note that when registering your account, we insist that you use your in-game character’s name as your username. This helps prevent any confusion for the Officers and Administrators of the website. Any accounts found in violation of this will be immediately deleted.

Once you have successfully registered, login to begin using your account. The first thing you will want to do is edit the time-zone in your profile. Setting the time-zone to your local time, will allow the event calendar to display events in your local time.

After setting up your time-zone, you will want to add all of your Azgalor characters to your account. Adding characters to your account will allow you to sign them up for events. Again, click on the profile button to do this. Then click on the large "Edit WoW Characters" button in the upper right-hand corner.

Now that you have your characters setup, you can begin signing-up for events. For more information on how our Event Calendar works, please click here.

Only non-initiate members of Hellscream Raiders can access the Member’s Forums. If you have full member’s status, yet still do not have access to these features, please contact an Officer or Administrator as we may have missed upgrading your access level.
Loot Rules
Definitions
Earning BKP
Bonus BKP

BKP Penalties
The penalty accrues over time. Warning -> 2nd offense -> 3rd offense -> Raid boot. Resets without any further offenses after 1 month. Penalty will be determined by the RL; a set in stone amount is not being used due to fluctuation in how much bkp is acquired during a given raid night between content patches.

Disconnect Issues: While they do not incur a BKP penalties, frequent disconnects due to an unstable connection will be dealt with by the RL. We'll watch for disconnects and after 4 we'll warn you that a 5th one will result in being replaced. Mass disconnects will not count, i.e. servers acting up and three fifths the raid disconnects.

Looting
Raid members should never need to loot an item. Badges are now auto looted. Bosses are Master Looted and trash looted by officers and put into the guild bank. However loot issues can occur, normally due to RL error, so if looting was set incorrectly the RL might request you to loot an epic you have won through a bid or to click on a mob so that an officer can loot the mob.

Winning Items
When boss loot or trash epics drop the raid leader in charge of loot will call for bids. Member and Initiates may make any of the bids below. An initiate will only win over a member when both 1/2 bid, if the item being bid on is main spec only to the initiate. 10% bids don't consider membership status. The bid options are

If you are the only non-vanity bid, and you bid 50% you will only pay 10% instead. To place a bid simply whisper 1/2, 10 or vanity to the raid leader. 50% > 10% > Vanity.

Awarded items
Any item you receive can not be used to turn a profit. You must "consume" or use the item for yourself. Obviously if you win a pattern you are allowed to use it to craft items and then sell them. But the recipes themselves can not be sold or bartered with.

The Officers say: Research the drops in each of the instances you will be participating in. Use the WoW Head or Thottbot zone section to find the instance. Then click on the "Blue+ Unique Zone Drops" to list every bit of good loot that drops. Figure out what you plan on bidding on, BEFORE coming to a raid. This helps you spend your hard-earned BKP more-wisely and speeds along the entire raid as we won’t have to wait for you to figure out if want an item or not.
Event Sign-Up Information
All upcoming raids can be found on the Hellscream Raiders event calendar. In order to sign-up for an event, you must first register on our website, then add characters to your account profile.

All events are usually posted about a week in advance.

Attendance Information
Raid formation time will always be listed in the details of the event, but is generally 30 minutes before the raid is scheduled to start. Due to server queues, mod issues and general readiness, we ask that everyone planning to participate in a scheduled raid be online at raid-formation time.

It is your responsibility to invite yourself to the raid, you will never receive an invite. To invite yourself, whisper the raid leader, "invite" – and an invite will automatically be sent to your character.

All raid participants are expected to be ready to raid, fully repaired, wearing the correct gear, having all mods loaded, stocked with the necessary reagents/potions and at the defined starting point at raid-formation time. You jeopardize your spot in the raid if you are not on-time and prepared. All raid participants are expected to be available for the full duration of the raid as it is stated in the calendar sign-up.

Final Raid Make-up (who gets in):
Your sign-up is considered late if you sign-up within 24 hours of the raid start-time, or if you show up to raid formation location less than 15min prior to raid start. Anyone considered "late" will have a reduced chance of joining the raid if it is full.

HSR does have a rank called Axe of Grom. Members of this rank will be bumped up one "tier" of priority for raid spots on non-farm nights.
Guild Bank
Repairs
Members of HSR have the ability to use the guild bank for repairs. This should be limited to repairs needed after/during guild raids and other guild runs. This includes our dkp raids as well as 5 and 10 man runs that are made up of all or mostly HSR members. The purpose of the guild bank funded repairs is that we don't want a person's reason for not raiding or for not going on an instance run to help others to be "I can't afford the repair bill." It is not there to be used for farming repairs. If you're farming, then you should have enough gold to repair out of pocket.

Requests
The items in the guild bank are available for HSR main toons to purchase for use (to equip, craft items for personal use, etc.). In rare cases items can be purchased to be used for your alts (mostly somewhat common gear items that have been collecting dust). In no case should items be purchased for resale (this is a kickable offense). When in doubt, just ask myself or your class leader.

To purchase an item from the guild bank, send Conlog an in-game mail (not whisper) listing the item(s) that you are requesting. The item will be mailed to you, CoD. The purchase price for items in the guild bank is 1/2 the current (reasonable) AH price.

Funding
The guild bank is funded through gold and item donations made by guildies as well as what is looted during raids.

Other
One last thing. The guild bank does NOT make loans.
Guild Ranks
Hellscream Raiders currently has loosely defined ranks which are based on character level. Rank is only applicable to the character that you consider your main. Any and all alts will have the rank of Guild Alt. New members have the rank of initiate for the first two weeks until their membership is voted on.

The leadership of the Hellscream Raiders is composed of the Guildleader, the Raid Leader, and the Class leaders. As a guildmember, you can approach anyone in the HSR leadership for any issue, but knowing who is in charge of what will help you go to the person specialized in that area if you need it.

Ventrillo
Hellscream Raiders uses a VoIP program called Ventrillo during all of its organized raiding. Ventrillo is a free program that allows players to speak to each other via the internet through a microphone attached to their computer.

Verbal communication while playing World of Warcraft is just plain better than typing. One can say much more, in less time than it takes to type it out on the keyboard. This is especially useful in some of the more difficult encounters in WoW.

Ventrillo can be downloaded, for free from http://www.ventrilo.com

To connect to the Hellscream Raider's Ventrillo server (the virtual call-center that processes everyone's voice), you must have our connection information and password. This information is available on our home page if you are a member of HSR, or can be obtained from a guild officer if you are not a member.

The Ventrillo server is paid for by Evexis and Conlog. As such, the password is not to be shared with anyone who does not belong in the server.

When using our Ventrillo server, your Vent handle must match the phonetic spelling of your in-game character's name. Any name used besides your in-game character's name will result in an immediate ban. To get unbanned you must contact an officer and correct your name.

During our organized raids, we ask that all members keep Ventrillo clear of unnecessary speaking, so everyone can hear the raid leader's directions.

Required Raid Mods
ORA2

BigWigs or Deadly Boss Mods

Decursive

Omen

Pally Power

Links to all of these are provided on the homepage down on the right hand side. If you believe a certain mod has no use for your class specifically I.E. pally power and you are not a pally. Clear it with your class leader first but you will not be required to download and run mods with no function for your class. That really only applies to pally power, decursive, and whatever we find to replace forecast with. ALL raiders will have ORA2, Omen, and either big wigs or DBM.
F&F Invites
Friends and family of full members of HSR are welcome to apply to our guild, and will be given an invitation for an initiate period regardless of current class needs. To be very clear, being a friend or family member only gets a person an initiate period and it is still in their hands to pass the membership vote.

Please keep in mind that the class officers generally will not be checking the application section if their class need is currently set at "low" or "no need" so it may take a few days before an guild invite is issued. To expedite the proccess the sponsor can and should be proactive and contact the appropriate class leader to let them know that a friend/family member is submitting an application. An invite will usually not even be issued until the sponsor has been talked to in order to confirm that the applicant is a family member or real-life friend and also that the sponsor is actually willing to vouch for the applicant.

The F&F invite is fairly strictly limited to family members and real-life friends (as opposed to in-game friends).
Guild Rules
HSR has a few rules that we expect our members to follow. These rules are in place to help us accomplish our goals as a casual raiding guild in a manner that we find acceptable. Failure to follow some of these rules will result in an immediate removal from our guild.

1. ACCOUNT SHARING
First off, Blizzard has it's own policies regarding account sharing, and that's between you and Blizzard. If you, for whatever reason, are sharing your account information with another person/other people, please be aware of the fact that in HSR we will hold you accountable for the things done/said by your toon, regardless of who is playing it. DO NOT allow your friend, brother, etc. to be playing your toon during an official HSR raid.

2. NINJA LOOTING & ITEM THEFT = immediate removal
We do not allow ninja looters in HSR, nor do we allow players who have stolen items from other players to be in our guild. If you are leading a group/raid you are expected to clearly communicate your loot rules to the entire group BEFORE anybody gets saved to the zone. Please note that as a guild we neither condemn nor endorse the practice of reserving loot, but if you are going to reserve items, then you must clearly state that to the entire raid BEFORE anybody gets saved to the zone and restate it if you bring in replacements during the run.

3. AFK/BG BOTTING = immediate removal
We do not allow players who afk/bg bot in HSR.

4. RAIDING OUT OF GUILD = warning/removal
You are not required to raid to be a member of HSR. However, if you are going to be raiding DKP content (any raid zone that HSR awards dkp in), we do expect you to be raiding with us. If you are going to be raiding out of guild (due to schedule conflicts, etc.), we need you to talk to your class leader first.

5. DISCUSSION TOPICS IN PUBLIC CHANNELS
Please refrain from discussing topics such as politics and religion in guild chat, vent, raid chat, etc. If you want to have these types of discussions please take it to a private vent channel.

6. WORD CHOICE = warning/removal
Refrain from using derogatory language in game, DO NOT use it guild chat, vent, raid chat, etc. DO NOT use the term "gay" in place of "stupid" or "lame". DO NOT use the term "raped" in place of "pwned" or "roflstomped".

7. POSTING METERS
DO NOT post performance meter reports in HSR chat channels.
